Set in the late 1980's and early 90's, this coming-of-age romance explores the challenges of growing into manhood by way of the military, and the lifelong bonds of brotherhood.
Right after Huey graduates high school, he joins the ARMY, looking to see the world and make something of himself. He leaves behind his mother and his college-bound girlfriend Tiffany. Tiffany and Huey are making plans for a bright future together, when Huey is deployed. The call to war puts their plans on hold, and they are forced to adjust their dreams.
During his military experience, Huey joins with a band of brothers who take a common oath to defend their country. This comradery could not be formed without its challenges. From race and religion to music and politics, the brothers have a plenty of differences to overcome and eventually, respect. It is this respect that prepares them to conquer any task put before them.
